FAQ

Why?

In short, scratching my own itch. I've been in this situation too many times and it hurts. The whole process of discovering new teams (I might enjoy working with) and researching nuances of working there is broken. It's very slow, inefficient, and frankly frustrating. Usually, it was taking me a few weeks to gather all key answers. I had to apply to the job, wait for the recruiter to reach out, interview with them (ask some questions), wait for an interview with the hiring manager (ask some questions), and so on. This process is broken (for both parties) and I want to fix it.

Who are you?

My name is Kirill and I've been designing digital experiences for humans for the last 10+ years. Read more about me.

How does it work?

I interview the hiring manager of the team and ask them several key questions that most UX candidates care about. Then, the answers are published on the team's profile for you to watch (or read). After that, you decide if you want to try to join this team. You can check if they have open jobs at the moment and apply, or sign up for the team's updates, if nothing's posted.

Can I add or recommend a team?

Absolutely, you can. Even more so, I strongly encourage you to add your team's profile to the platform. If you are the hiring manager, fill out this form and I will connect with you. Otherwise, forward this to your hiring manager, I would very much appreciate an introduction, and I can discuss the team profile with them directly. Help more designers learn more about your team, so they want to join you.

What if I am not looking for a new job right now?

Good for you, but eventually, this day will come. Better have the list of cool design teams ready. Actually, it will be better to do preliminary research about different teams beforehand, so you don't rush such an important step. Also, you could get inspired by what you learn about the teams and become interested in exploring new opportunities earlier than you would have thought

What happens after I find a team I like?

When you find the team(s) that gets you excited, you can view their current job openings and apply, or follow company updates to get notified when they post something new.

How did you come up with the questions to ask?

Over the years, I've experienced working with many different design teams and cultures and I've defined my personal list of questions that have been growing and getting more refined. In addition, I surveyed the UX community to understand the main points of interest and priorities and gathered some extra insights online. After optimizing and prioritizing the full list of 50+ questions, I settled on 21 most important ones.

Why is it only for UX designers?

UX is my jam and designers are my circle. Putting more focus on the UX community allows me to get more valuable information that is tailored specifically for people like me. And I am truly passionate about this target audience and experienced all these problems myself many many times.

How can I help?

If you want to support the platform, the best thing you can do is to connect me with your boss, so we can add your team's profile. Also, I would be happy if you spread the word with your friends, colleagues, and network. This will help tremendously. The more people visiting the website - the more companies would want to add their profile. It's a win-win!
